CJ Hendry Flower Shop Activation | Brisbane
When artist CJ Hendry’s Flower Shop arrived in Brisbane recently, I was delighted to be commissioned by her team to photograph the activation.
Flower Shop is a retail-focused take on CJ Hendry’s hugely popular Flower Market concept, where visitors choose from a colourful collection of handmade fabric flowers to create their own arrangements.
For the Brisbane pop-up in Fortitude Valley, the collection included more than 100 flower varieties, along with a limited selection of highly sought-after Australian natives. With a devoted following online and previous Flower Market events drawing large crowds, there was plenty of anticipation around the Brisbane opening.
The morning began with a chance to photograph the space before opening, when row upon row of colourful flowers were still perfectly arranged. It was a completely different scene once the doors opened, with a queue outside and the space quickly filling with people. With so much colour, personality and genuine excitement around the flowers, it was a really enjoyable morning to photograph.
