When your client tells you their team think of you as the best conference photographer in Australia, you know you’re doing something right.
I was thrilled and humbled to hear this from a team who work regularly with various photographers around the country.
Coupled with the recent week-long conference I photographed for them being a repeat booking, I’d say I received the two most sought after compliments an event photographer could hope for.
FIG Working Week + Locate25 was an international conference and expo, with delegates in attendance from all around the world, photographed for the awesome crew at the Geospatial Council of Australia, and was action packed from start to finish.
During the week I spent with GCA, I photographed a massive eleven events in total. Kicking off with the Young Surveyors Conference, followed by an opening General Assembly, a rooftop welcome reception at The Star, two days of plenary and conference sessions at BCEC, a survey mark unveiling, two dinner events, a closing General Assembly and finishing up with a farewell function!
By choosing to cover the evening events myself, rather than bring on a second photographer, I was able to build a rapport with the management team, presenters and delegates that enabled me to capture images that I don’t feel would have been quite the same otherwise.
At the conclusion of each sub-event, I quickly got to work on the laptop to select and upload a selection of ‘best of’ highlights which GCA were able to make use of in regular LinkedIn and Facebook posts throughout the week.
In the days following the conference, my client received a full set of high and low resolution images (edited in-house), along with an online gallery which has been viewed by attendees from every corner of the globe.
I absolutely loved photographing this very large series of events and, as always, am beyond grateful to my gorgeous clients for placing their trust in me.
