GOMA Christmas Design Market | Brisbane Photography
The annual GOMA Christmas Design Market was a gorgeous mix of colour and creativity, and I was lucky enough to photograph it.
As a preferred photography supplier for QAGOMA, I get to photograph a wide variety of gorgeous events inside (and outside) the gallery spaces. It always feels like play, rather than work, and this one was no exception.
With some of our city's most talented creators displaying their work—from ceramics and jewellery, to textiles and prints—the market had an energy that was both relaxed and buzzing. An overcast morning made for gorgeous shooting conditions, and Brisbane’s pooches were out in force, which made for some seriously photogenic moments.
My brief was to capture the atmosphere, the makers and their work, and the visitors enjoying the market. QAGOMA uses these images across their social media, marketing materials, and to promote future markets, so I made sure to get a good mix of wide shots showing the scale and energy of the event, detail shots of the beautiful handmade products, and candid moments of people browsing and chatting with the stallholders.
This project forms part of my brand activations and openings photography, focused on public-facing events and natural audience engagement.
